引自耶穌的寓言：有德高望重的法利賽人與被唾棄的稅吏二人，同時在聖殿禱告。法利賽人自視甚高夸夸其詞，稅吏卻自慚形穢，頭也抬不起來。耶穌說，比起這自以為義的法利賽人，知罪的稅吏在神眼裡倒算為義了。

A parable told by Jesus Christ: a highly respected Pharisee and a much despised tax collector both stand in the temple reciting their prayers. The self-aggrandizing Pharisee made a public show of his piety, while the tax collector, weighed down by his own guilt and shame, was unable to lift his eyes to heaven. Christ said compared to the pompous Pharisee, the tax collector who was fully aware of his sin, is consider the righteous one in eyes of God.
